8/3/09 - Peace A Pizza Delivery Truck Grabs Main Line Attention
Peace A Pizza has a newly designed vehicle in its fleet that has people talking, and it can't be missed! The company's 20' long distribution truck, which carries fresh ingredients to PAP stores, has been "wrapped" with a 70's-inspired graphic that makes it look like a tow truck hauling a VW Bus and Beetle. The driver's cab door bears a logo for "Peace Towing Co." and has a tag line that reads; "...hauling the good stuff since 1996." The VWs being towed in the graphic are complete with 70s decoration, tie-dye curtains, Peace A Pizza bumper stickers & custom plates, plus a driver whom some think resembles shock-jock, Howard Stern!? It's not the famous radio host though. It's PAP's Wayne location manager, Dan Corenzwit. He volunteered to get hippie-fied for the project and can now be seen all up and down the Main Line on Mondays and Wednesdays when the truck is in service.
"We are always trying to bring a smile to our customers and our community, says company president, Pete Howey. "We try not to take ourselves too seriously. Our goal is develop a brand that communicates approachability, community, and fun. If we can elicit a few smiles or chuckles along the way, that's awesome."
By the way, if you like the bumper stickers on the vehicles in the graphic, you can actually grab a few of them for real! Just ask for some Car-Friendly Bumper Magnets in those same designs in any PAP store. They're FREE!
Peace A Pizza has 15 locations across PA, NJ and DE and boasts “Best of” awards from Philadelphia Magazine, Main Line Today and Delaware Today, including a 2009 win from Main LIne Today for Reader's Choice - Best Gourmet Pizza. The restaurant is best known for its extensive variety of generously-sized gourmet slices. Salads, strombolis, breadsticks and cookies for dessert round out the menu.
